alsa-base 1.0.25+3 installs: /etc /etc/modprobe.d /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base-blacklist.conf The modeprobe stuff is AFAIK merged to kmod /etc/default /etc/default/alsa-base This is useful for apmd powermanagement. Since lenny kernels are not built with APM support anymore it should be useless for jessie. /usr /usr/sbin /usr/sbin/alsa This is a relict from alsa-driver package to have some snd-mod handling: Usage: /usr/sbin/alsa {unload|reload|force-unload|force-reload|suspend|resume} This isn't used by any Debian package. If a user want to unlosd snd-mod's one must handle it with modprobe. /usr/share /usr/share/doc /usr/share/doc/alsa-base /usr/share/doc/alsa-base/NEWS.Debian.gz /usr/share/doc/alsa-base/changelog.gz /usr/share/doc/alsa-base/copyright /usr/share/doc/alsa-base/README.Debian Hints for Handling of multiple cards can be adapted to alsa-utils README.Debian. /usr/share/bug /usr/share/bug/alsa-base /usr/share/bug/alsa-base/presubj /usr/share/bug/alsa-base/control /usr/share/bug/alsa-base/script /usr/share/lintian /usr/share/lintian/overrides /usr/share/lintian/overrides/alsa-base /usr/share/alsa-base Only package managing. So yes, why not orphan alsa-base for Jessie? Elimar -- Never make anything simple and efficient when a way can be found to make it complex and wonderful ;-)
