FWIW, using that patch the package builds just fine in current sid on amd64. I couldn't find a report concerning this FTBFS in upstream's tracker, but upstream has dealt with an equivalent issue on cygwin 64bit by simply disabling assembler as well, cf. <http://trac.la-samhna.de/samhain/ticket/349>.
