I have no idea :) It was probably a workaround for something many years ago and IIRC this was already there before I took over the packages. It should be safe to remove if the results are the same. Will upload new packages of gstreamer1.0 and gst-plugins-base1.0 tomorrow unless someone else wants to do it before Thanks!
