For the record, as trn4 maintainer, I still support trn staying in Debian. trn4 has never had a non-beta release and features some UI changes to which, in my experience, a sizeable fraction of trn users have negative reactions (although I happen to like them personally). trn users are generally attached to trn because of its UI, and for those who don't like trn4 there's really no replacement available.
