it's a policy violation, sure, but not a serious one, as the effect is rather harmless, thus downgrading the severity. https://piuparts.debian.org/templates/mail/unowned_files_after_purge_policy_6.8_and_10.8.mail and https://piuparts.debian.org/templates/mail/unowned_directory_after_purge.mail are the templates we use for filing these kind of bugs, with severity "important." There are probably 100000 policy violations in Debian's 42k binary packages in sid, but only a very tiny percentage is actually serious :) cheers, Holger
