Hi there! I'm Joerg's primary sponsor and I was just now notified of this situation. I just talked to Joerg and it seems he'd rather have this change uploaded himself than through an NMU.
I'm at the computer all day and I will gladly quickly review and upload any changes to sane-backends that are necessary. Since I'm also the maintainer of two ports (m68k, sh4), I'm also very much concerned if sane-backends is currently causing the build queue to stall, so I understand the need of the NMU if there was no quick reply by the maintainer. However, since Joerg puts a lot of effort and care into his packaging, I understand when he prefers to make such uploads himself and not having someone interfere with an NMU. And since Joerg is still in his training phase, he makes mistakes like these from time to time but overall, he does a great job. So, please bear with him when he overlooked this issue. Joerg, let me know if you want to do this upload yourself right now. We have still around 12 hours before Jonathan's NMU in DELAYED expires. Cheers, Adrian -- .''`.
