I tested it fine on a sysvinit machine and install went fine on a systemd powered machine (did not actually test the web interface). I think its caused by some gitlab services failing to start with systemd, possibly because I left our some path changes in pid or logs.
Can you share systemctl status gitlab-unicorn.service -l systemctl status gitlab-sidekiq.service -l systemctl status gitlab-workhorse.service -l You may need to do a systemctl daemon-reload
