It's my impression that the tk8.0 package doesn't serve a purpose anymore in etch; we have both tk8.3 and tk8.4 which supersede it, and its only reverse-deps are itcl3.0 and blt -- itcl3.0 is also superseded by itcl3.1, and blt supports all available tcl/tk builds so can easily drop this build-dependency. Do you agree? If so, please reassign this bug to ftp.debian.org to request removal of the package. If you disagree, then please explain why you think we need three versions of tk in the next stable release. If there is no maintainer response to this bug, I'll go ahead and reassign it to ftp.debian.org myself in a week or so.
