Hi, Since my original report, I tried a LiveCD and couldn't get any sound either. But I tried the headphone jack, and I got sound, so I got the strong suspicion that whatever the hardware switch for the headphones/speakers what stuck. I put the headphones in again, wiggled it some, and got sound back.
Sometimes we only need really low-tech solutions... :) Sorry about the bug report! You can close it now... Carlos
