hi Vincent, hi Gregor, I think that since the stack trace contains an invocation of GNOME's AtkWrapper, that may be the problem (we've had problems with this before!).
@Vincent/@Gregor: Could you please try the following (with the old freeplane-1.5.16-2)? (please do NOT remove your ~/.config/freeplane before) - find out which java you are using: $ ls -lh /etc/alternatives/java lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 46 Oct 9 2015 /etc/alternatives/java -> /usr/lib/jvm/java-8-openjdk-amd64/jre/bin/java - edit /etc/java-8-openjdk/accessibility.properties (please use the correct one for your java version) - comment out this line: #assistive_technologies=org.GNOME.Accessibility.AtkWrapper - start freeplane again (from console) Thanks for Reporting & Testing, -- Felix Natter
