Can you share the exact configuration you are using so we can reproduce the problem? I just started a pristine sid VM, logged in on tty2, ran startx /usr/bin/openbox, then ssh some.remote.server. This prompted me for the password withouth problems. -- Why is it that all of the instruments seeking intelligent life in the universe are pointed away from Earth?
