I seems this is a known issue, it was discovered by Guix people last year: http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-grub/2017-06/msg00012.html https://debbugs.gnu.org/cgi/bugreport.cgi?bug=26936 For some people, it seems to fail randomly. In some of my autobuilders, it always fail. I would just disable the test and close the bug in Debian. But if you still want to debug it, I could still offer a test machine where it happens all the time. Thanks.
