Hello, fwiw this problem seems to be introduced by a patch which adds the dpkg-architecture usage: https://sources.debian.org/src/dkms/2.6.1-1/debian/patches/0004-mkbmdeb-support-for-lean-binary-package-with-only-th.patch/
The patch was apparently added to fix http://bugs.debian.org/554843 Regards, Andreas Henriksson
