I should add that I'm not running away because maintaining metche is particularly troublesome: it is pretty stable software, does its intended job pretty well, hasn't bitrotted, and does not require much maintenance work (maybe 4-12 hours a year).
I'm simply cleaning up my plate of things I don't care much about anymore.
