I would say downgrade it for the moment. We can deal with it after Buster. Indeed this is quite tricky. I agree that `e2fsprogs` shouldn't depend on `libsparse`. I like the `dlopen` approach but it increases the maintenance burden a little bit. But anyway I am too mentally tired of yet another AOSP fork making into Debian's archive...
