The lists are now: Local Computer Personal list1 list2 list3 The lists list1-list3 cannot be removed. The option exists in the context menu but nothing happens when selected. In addition, for a task only the lists Personal and list1 can be selected: list2 and list3 exist in the task list selection and seem to be selectable but when selected result in list1. In addition, the task seems to exist in all three lists at the same time: when all of these are selected as shown, the same task is seen three times, each with different colors according to the task lists list1--list3. I have removed (apt-get remove --purge evolution) and reinstalled evolution and removed all the data files for it in my home directory (both .evolutio and under .gconf) but the phenomenon persists - as do the lists, wherever they exist.
