signature seems to have changed in PHP 8.0. I’ve prepared a simple
patch, but applying it would make the package incompatible with the
current PHP 7.4.

It might be possible to declare the function conditionally on the PHP
version, help with that would be welcome (upstream repository is
archived, so I wouldn’t wait for them). Alternatively, we’ll need to
upload the proposed fix in sync (after) the php8.0 transition (in that
case, the “block by” might be excessive or declared the wrong way
around).
