Latex is only used for pdf output, and even there it's just the default option, but there is support for other engines as well. If that wasn't the case, I agree that it should be a dependency, but it should be a dependency of pandoc rather than pypandoc. The issue here is that the tests of pypandoc do try to generate a pdf (as it is a pretty common usecase), and thus they do need latex installed, but that's only a requirement for the tests. > alrightie. this was my NM application bug; i guess i will find > another one. have a good day!
