Hey Luk, I'm happy to fix this, but I'm not sure what needs to be done.
Is it as simple as doing an apt-get source, uupdate, edit changlog, buildpackage, and make the debs available? (I assume preferably signed with a gpg key) On 7/6/06, Alexey Nezhdanov <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
Hello. Package jabber-irc can be removed from Debian if we will not react. Pierre Habouzit made NMU, replacing python-irclib with updated version AND made this package provide library not for python version that jabber-irc transport uses (debian drops support for python 2.1 and 2.2). So now our IRC transport is uninstallable in Debian, have an RC bug and subject to removal in one month IIRC. It was quite hard to get this piece of software into debian so it will be pity to loose it. I'm asking anyone interested to prepare updated package and drop a mail here and to [EMAIL PROTECTED] about update package. I am really have no time to do it myself atm. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Subject: Bug#376894: Uninstallable due to python transition Date: 05 July 2006 20:14 From: Luk Claes <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Package: jabber-irc Severity: serious Version: 0.1cvs20050420-3 Hi Your package is not installable as it depends on python2.3-irclib which is not available anymore. You might want to update the dependency to python-irclib.
