I'm not convinced that what's already in testing is safe to ship with
etch, to be honest. I'll dig into the build system changes and prepare
a replacement, unless somebody else (Eduard?) already has a similar
replacement ready. The existing GPL code should be fine; if needs be
we can simply go back to the last GPLed build system and fix from
there.

A good free replacement is needed, but that clearly won't hit etch...
