Control: tags -1 moreinfo Actually, I suspect this situation is similar to how gnome-shell has a lot of references to clutter that are satisfied by mutter's modified code copy of clutter.
Cinnamon (a fork of an early version of gnome-shell) has a dependency on Muffin (a fork of an early version of mutter) which also has a modified code copy of clutter. Therefore, maybe we should close this bug? It would be helpful if someone could verify this by running cinnamon master which has the caribou dependency removed. And see if Cinnamon still runs without caribou or gir1.2-clutter-1.0 installed. Thank you, Jeremy Bícha
