I tried to relax the dependency in the usual way, but this failed to compile. The errors seem to be the same as those visible in https://github.com/PyO3/maturin/pull/2816.
CCing Alexander since this was the result of their rust-cargo-metadata upload. (Maybe you could provide an upstream patch to maturin, if you're familiar with cargo_metadata? I'm not.)
