ok, i made a change in growlight to check for TERM, and suppress this test when it is not defined, printing a warning in this case. see upstream bug https://github.com/dankamongmen/growlight/issues/161
i don't want to do another upstream release just for this, but i'll bring the patch in, and that ought resolve this. once i verify, i'll upload to unstable and mark this closed.
