Hello. I'm just a casual observer here. What would be the problem in dropping both -lcrypt and the build-dependency on libcrypt-dev? I agree that this bug should not be serious, because a build-dependency on libcrypt-dev was added one month ago, but IMO asking for -lcrypt to be dropped seems a perfectly legitimate bug to me (as a normal bug).
