Dear all, well I own a PPC machine (Powerbook G4), but at the moment of the pkg creation I used a x86. Anyway I tested on my G4 and I realized what you reported: but afterward I downloaded the sources from debian official repos and I builded from them. I deinstalled the previous pkg and reinstalled the one just compiled. From this moment on it has worked fine without error. Can you test a rebuild please, meanwhile I am going to investigate on this strange behaviour?
