I did have the package in revision control for a while but it just made
the whole experience of working on it miserable and I never saw any
indication that anyone had ever tried to interact with it or any of my
other packages so I stopped bothering, I was getting negative benefit
from it. Every time I've tried poking at it the tooling was slow and
unpleasant to work on with patching systems since it tended to be hard
to tell what state things were in or generally work on changes to the
actual code (as opposed to packaging). For stuff that's just pure
packaging it's fine, but sadly we need patches for zlib.
