FWIW, I've had problems with bcm43xx on i386 as well, which I think are attributable to the youth of the driver. I'm assuming you don't actually think it's a good idea to *disable* the bcm43xx driver in the kernel packages to avoid shipping with this bug, so that would make it an important bug that we should try to fix, rather than an RC bug that must be fixed before release.
