Hello. I can reproduce this on amd64, so it's not i386-specific. Also, I can reproduce it very easily on machines with 1 CPU, but the original report comes from a machine with 8 cores, so it's not a single-cpu specific problem either. I'll forward the bug upstream and will either implement the upstream fix (if any), or disable the test as flaky. If somebody wants to debug this anyway, the failure rate is a lot higher on single-cpu machines, so GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="nr_cpus=1" will probably help. If it does not, you can also ask me privately for a VM where this happens all the time. Thanks.
