Below you will find the last part of the build log (probably the most
relevant part, but not necessarily). If required, the full build log
is available here:

That snippet is not related at all. The actual issue is here:

------

lcov: ERROR: lcov: ERROR: (deprecated) RC option 'lcov_branch_coverage' is deprecated. Please use 'branch_coverage' instead.
        (use "lcov --ignore-errors deprecated ..." to bypass this error)

Meson has code since 2023 to make this work:

-----

if lcov_exe and mesonlib.version_compare(lcov_version, '>=2.0'):
        lcov_exe_rc_branch_coverage = ['--rc', 'branch_coverage=1']
    else:
        lcov_exe_rc_branch_coverage = ['--rc', 'lcov_branch_coverage=1']

-----

I tested this on the latest Ubuntu and it works exactly as it should. The version lcov reports is:

------
lcov: LCOV version 2.0-1
------

So I guess the question is whether lcov is reporting its version number properly or if it has changed its versioning scheme to be incompatible with the existing check.
