Package: maxima
Version: 5.49.0+dsfg-5
Severity: serious
Justification: makes the package unsuitable for release

Dear Maintainer,

it appears that maxima fails to load the package draw on the loong64
architecture.

The issue can be reproduce on the current long64 porterbox as follows.
The command

$ echo 'debugmode(true);load(draw);quit();' | maxima

gives

        Maxima 5.49.0 https://maxima.sourceforge.io

         -- an error. Entering the Maxima debugger.
        Enter ':h' for help.

This issue does not occurs on other officially supported architectures.

I suspect that this issue is related to the gcc-16 transition,
but I cannot confirm since I am not familiar with the maxima
building process.

hth,
Jerome
