I tested tint2 17.0.1-1.2 with CMake 4 and prepared a minimal Debian quilt patch for this FTBFS.
This is most likely the correct solution. There is a small chance that CMake changed its default behavior since version 2.8.5 in a way that subtly breaks the package when patched this way, but you can just test the patched version and see if it installs and works as expected.
