None of the reverse dependencies of python3-qtawesome in Debian unstable use the remixicon (ri) variant of qtawesome.
The remix usage in the rdeps can be detected from the "ri." prefix, remix/remixicon strings, and custom load_font/set_charmap calls that could alias the remix font): python3-spyder: mdi/mdi6 (Material Design Icons) + custom spyder font python3-spyder-line-profiler: mdi (mdi.speedometer) crispy: fa6s (Font Awesome 6 solid) openlp: mdi + custom op font finalcif: fa5/fa5s, mdi, ph (Phosphor), msc (= codicon) So you can drop the font from the package in my opinion.
