hi,
in Debian Etch, through a VNC session, now firefox (and all other pkgs
that link to libcairo) won't work anymore:
$ Error: Cairo does not yet support the requested image format:

Alpha mask: 0x00000000
Red mask: 0x00000007
Green mask: 0x00000038
Blue mask: 0x000000c0

I filed a 'critical' bugrep instead of a pale 'enhancement' request, as
suggested, because this lacking in cairo breaks a whole lot of things.
