Package: llvm
Version: 1.7-3
Severity: serious

llvm 1.7-3 won't enter testing because it's out of date on amd64 and
ia64.  1.7-3 didn't build on amd64 because "x86_64 is an unsupported
architecture for 1.7" and ia64 fails with:

| llvm[4]: Compiling compress.c for Release build
| compress.c:709: fatal error: opening dependency file
/build/buildd/llvm-1.7/llvm/lib/Support/bzip2/Release/compress.Cd: Nosuch file
or directory
| compilation terminated.

Can you please investigate the ia64 build failure. As for amd64, if
there's no new release of llvm soon which will support amd64 you'll
have to request removal of the llvm amd64 binary package so 1.7 can
enter testing.

Changes:
 llvm (1.8b-1) unstable; urgency=low
 .
   * Closes: bug#356095: missing llvmc from package (over-zealous cleanup
     was removing it)
   * Replace entire C front-end (CFE)with latest from CVS (as recommended by
     upstream); this will get re-synced with the 1.9 release.
   * Re-enable amd64 build.
   * Closes: bug#380151 --  FTBFS on ia64 and amd64; new CFE fixes ia64,
     but amd64 is hacked back in and not officially supported upstream.
   * Closes: bug#389300 -- ia64/unstable FTBFS: compile errors (duplicate)
   * Closes: bug#394883 -- ia64/unstable FTBFS: compile errors (duplicate)
