I updated the patch again, plus a loadlin patch in http://dept-info.labri.fr/~thibault/tmp/patch-loadlin And... this builds, runs, and boots fine!! I actually gave up reviving the omf output, and just added a /E option to tasm for making it a (very) basic .exe file, which is just sufficient for loadlin.
