severity 400635 important
reassign 400635 libxrandr2
forcemerge 400441 400635
thanks

As you stated in your followup, this issue does not apply to unstable. As
documented in the NEWS.Debian of libx11-6 2:1.1-1 and newer in experimental,
this type of assertion represents a locking bug in software invoking libx11,
not a bug in XCB or Xlib.

Does your x-session-manager alternative point to gnome-session? If so, we
know about the problem; it occurs due to a locking bug in libxrandr2 (bug
400441), and a fixed version of libxrandr2 should hit unstable soon. Under
the assumption that this describes your bug report, I've reassigned to
libxrandr2 and merged with 400441; if not, please provide a gdb backtrace so
we can track down the source of the problem.
