Package: f-spot Version: 0.3.0-1
Per a suggestion from Andreas Henriksson, I tried launching f-spot
with the following command:
dbus-launch f-spot
This worked. f-spot started and appeared to be fully functional.
Below is a snippet of messages from the command line:

I also tried starting again with just the simple command 'f-spot',
and that bombed out and produced the same error message as in my bug
report.
