gtkpod depends on libgpod0. Perversely, it also conflicts with libgpod0 >=
0.4. The version
of libgpod0 in unstable and testing is 0.4.0-0.3.
This situation was introduced here:

presumable in response to things discussed here:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=396769 , wherein it is stated
that gtkpod
0.99.4 is not compatible with libgpod0 0.4+ and will not build or run with it
present.
Despite that assertion, gtkpod 0.99.4 started and ran with libgpod0 0.4
present, though there
may have been subtle errors somewhere.
At any rate, making gtkpod conflict with a package upon which it depends
doesn't seem to be
the way to fix anything.

**this is the info for the previous version of gtkpod, as the newer version is
not
installable. 0.99.4-2 adds a conflicts with libgpod0 >= 0.4, which is what
makes gtkpod
