Well, actually, we get nearer to release of Etch, and we need to get rid of the remaining RC bugs *now*. Also, there hasn't been progress on this bug during the recent days. I don't like that fix either - but hey, it fixes the problem (and of course you can keep a copy of the bug around as important). So, what does "force you" include?
