Currently, you can't change an APT-CDROM line in /etc/apt/sources.list by changing the beginning of it so that it points to an FTP mirror, because this would make it to point to unstable, which is currently woody. If you are not very careful, you may end up upgrading your system from potato to woody, which is not what you might want.
