less can't show chinese...

I'm using unstable/sid. It seem that less can't show chinese after upgrade
glib 2.2. The chinese will just appear as hexcode..However,i can show
chinese by "LESSCHARSET=iso8859 less xxx.txt" ..
anyone have similar problem?
