It looks like you think there are many bugs in debootstrap, to be honest they aren't that many. Looking through my script I see the following bugs i work around:
- Weird non-zero exit codes although everything went fine - Copying ssh host keys - Copying host motd - /etc/hostname set to localhost (not sure if this is a bug) - Some packages are left un-upgraded Marco: Why would you want to partition an image instead of attaching another volume? I don't follow.
