If anyone is interested, pants is aptable from: deb http://perkypants.org/debian unstable main which was rebuilt using dpkg-repack after it disappeared from incoming and Thom disappeared with the only sources on his laptop. Pants was originally a Redhat initscript, see: http://www.au.vergenet.net/~conrad/scripts/pants.html ported over many beers at a Debian SIG by Thom, Jeff and myself.
