I followed the Exim instructions for setting it up with debbugs on a system that Exim will handle more than one kind of mail for, if the setup worked (incoming mail for users, outgoing mail from users, and debbugs). I followed the instructions and placed this at the top of directives, as directed: debbugs: driver = aliasfile domains = bugs.surgo.net file = /usr/lib/debbugs/receive user = debbugs group = debbugs current_directory = /var/lib/debbugs/spool home_directory = /var/lib/debbugs/spool The user and group debbugs was one I set up with login and password disabled and the shell set to /bin/false. bugs.surgo.net would be the domain I would receive the bug reports from, and was added to local_domains. Anyway, the error I received was the following, when I tried to send a test mail from [EMAIL PROTECTED] to [EMAIL PROTECTED] on the machine next to the mail server on the network (which works normally, without the debbugs configuration in exim.conf). Using Kmail, this is the error: A search type option is required Unfortunately, I am no expert in Exim (yet ;) and I do not know how to fix the instructions provided in the documentation. -- System Information Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux surgo 2.4.20-4 #2 Sat Jan 11 23:08:57 EST 2003 i686 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C --------------------------------------- Received: (at 178436-done) by bugs.debian.org; 25 Mar 2003 02:37:56 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Mar 24 20:37:56 2003 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from gadolinium.btinternet.com [194.73.73.111] by master.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.12 1 (Debian)) id 18xeK4-0001A8-00; Mon, 24 Mar 2003 20:37:56 -0600 Received: from host81-132-174-158.in-addr.btopenworld.com ([81.132.174.158] helo=riva.lab.dotat.at) by gadolinium.btinternet.com with esmtp (Exim 3.22 #23) id 18xeK2-0007D8-00 for [EMAIL PROTECTED]; Tue, 25 Mar 2003 02:37:54 +0000 Received: from cjwatson by riva.lab.dotat.at with local (Exim 3.35 #1 (Debian)) for [EMAIL PROTECTED] id 18xeK2-0001iH-00; Tue, 25 Mar 2003 02:37:54 +0000 Date: Tue, 25 Mar 2003 02:37:54 +0000 From: Colin Watson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Bug#178436: 78688 contains information for fixing this Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> References: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline In-Reply-To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> User-Agent: Mutt/1.3.28i Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-3.3 required=4.0 tests=IN_REP_TO,QUOTED_EMAIL_TEXT,REFERENCES, SIGNATURE_SHORT_DENSE,SPAM_PHRASE_00_01,USER_AGENT, USER_AGENT_MUTT version=2.44 X-Spam-Level: On Mon, Mar 24, 2003 at 03:45:11PM -0500, Morgon Kanter wrote: > tag 178436 + fixed > > Bug #78688 contains all the information needed to fix this bug, and the > unstable version already is correct, so I'm tagging this as fixed > because it is fixed in the unstable version. Just experimental, actually (which is why it won't reach testing until 2.4.1 or whatever is released with a few more fixes); but yes, thanks for confirming the fix. -- Colin Watson [EMAIL PROTECTED]
