Hi,

the easiest way is using rcconf:

as root:

$ aptitude install rcconf
$ rcconf

It's an interactive alternative to update-rc.d (a frontend actually)

This is a ncurses interface. A GTK alternative is Boot Up Manager:

$ aptitude install bum
$ bum

i have a laptop like many other people.

i use it, some times, to development, but some development is C, other is php, other have to have mysql, other postgresql.

The question is, how do i make some daemons not to start at boot?

there is no /etc/default options, but should we advice the mantainers to add them?
