Maybe, the choices could be different, but the point is reduce number of choices to 1 (one) for the average Joe User by default. Experienced or bold users will still have the option to install any sw using a "complete home desktop" tasksel or using apt. I work now at a big company and each day see how like homer simpson is the average user... The videos and reports at http://www.betterdesktop.org/ could help to understand Joe User a bit more.
