i didn't applied as it is the patch, as i prefer to provide directly the tga file instead of generating it and introducing more dependencies. I kept your GRUB 2 hooks in postinst/prerm. Please, take a look at the svn repo (revision 97) and let me know if current changes satisfy your request.
