I'm not sure the splashy situation will stabilize. They seem to be happy with the current situation, and there was 2 RC bugs waiting for them without action. I've closed one and uploaded a fix for the other in DELAYED/2, but I'm not sure they are that reactive and/or able to fix that. Basically, I really don't know how etch -> lenny upgrades will behave.
