Thanks a lot, it looked promising. Anyway I've tried both - alas to no effect. I'm not very skilled with fontconfig, but fc-match says: # fc-match "Linux Libertine" DejaVuSans.ttf: "DejaVu Sans" "Book" which is exactly what I can see in my OpenOffice.org documents - DejaVu Sans instead of Linux Libertine. (I guess I should refresh fontconfig database, only I'm not sure how to do it.) It is a pity, I'm using Linux Libertine as main font for some non-profit typesetting work, which is now nearing deadline; <sigh> time to redefine a few styles.
