I'm quite optimistic we will soon know about the main bugs of rsyslog, because Fedora is using that now as their main syslog server - so we can happily package it now, view what happens on Fedora and use it. (And, BTW, I was next to packaging rsyslog myself, but I decided I'm already involved in far too many tasks, so didn't do it.)
